Which is better - vinyl or wood with aluminum casing replacement windows?

Vinyl widow frames and sashes are hollow and are not insulated. Wood frames are solid which means better insulation factor. Some window companies like Anderson Windows makes a wood frame and sash that is covered with vinyl for low maintenance. So to answer your question, my answer would be wood covered with vinyl, so both. There are several replacement windows out there that have vinyl replacement windows that have aluminum frames under the vinyl. Spend even more money and you can get these with a foam insulation in them. At a grand for a single double hung window I would think that the wood with a vinyl coating is the way to go.Which is better - vinyl or wood with aluminum casing replacement windows?
Just plain wood looks the best. Vinyl is the best for low maintenance and long last. Ive got painted wood that is over fifty and still in good shape.Which is better - vinyl or wood with aluminum casing replacement windows?
Vinyl is least expensive and easy to care for overall.
if you are going to paint the interior of wood windows , you may want to consider vinyl which ar already white on the inside . but you cant stain vinyl so if you a wood lover and want the warmth it offers then buy wood windows . they should be vinyl or aluminum clad on the outside so you never paint that part again . andersen makes a real fine casement , vinyl clad exterior with pine interior
