I'm looking for a portfolio case similar to the Aluminum 12';x18';x5'; Attach茅 Case, except it is not Aluminum?
I'm looking for a portfolio case, it looks like a box, and it folds open. When opened you are left with storage to add a window display box and a portfolio case that shows a variety of work. I prefer something like a canvas or...just something different. You could print a photo of the case you wanted to get and enclose a note with it saying that this is what you were going to buy but it is out of stock. Also, enclose a check or gift card and tell her she should use that to pick out another one that she likes. If you know she wants a cosmetics case already, I bet she also has her eye on the one she wants!

Custom aluminum cell phone case?
Does anyone know of any metal/steel shops who could make aluminum steel cell phone cases? Not cases for the phone, but the actual body for it. Just a thought...you might look for a water-proof case. It will be less expensive than searching for a custom body for the phone.
I know some after-market manufacturers have cases designed for use on the beach or in moist environments. Plus, the case would designed for your specific phone.

Unfortunately because the phone is a slider model, putting it into a metal case will not protect it from being crushed. the rails the front slides on are plastic and will easily be ruined if the phone is stepped on or has something heavy dropped on it. A metal body would help ensure against flex stress to the LCD though. regardless of the protection a metal body would afford, the price would be very high- like over $300, as 2 separate stamping forms would need to be made then laser cut outs for the buttons. If you can afford a case like this, then yu certainly can afford a stereo bluetooth headset to compensate for the the lack of a standard audio jack.

well im not sure that anyone would actually do that for you unless you just knew them personally im not sure if its practical honestly...but i usually buy a silicone skin case for my phones it protects them from any scratches and if you do drop it it softens the blow lol anyway you might look into that or like a hip holster to keep it safe as for the headphone jack i thought those phones had them? i thought it used a special headphone that wasn't like a normal post jack but more like a flat charger looking jack for headphones...since it is a music phone i was pretty sure it was equipped with a headphones jack not sure im 100% accurate on all of this but at least i tired!

You have to format the external drive and partition it to use it.

I have a nano and i have a super slim pink silicone case for it. Its only opening is the front square and the circle so there aren't extra bulky parts or compartments and stuff. It is super light weight, easy to clean (just rinse with water once you take the ipod out). I have dropped it and the silicone hasn't even scratched, and neither of course has the ipod. I have the MARWARE sportgrip. Here is the website:

Painting an Aluminum Ipod Case? Pics included.?
I have an old case for my 3rd Generation Apple iPod nano (';the fat one';) and was wondering what the best way to paint it would be. It is teal blue and I would like to paint it purple. Would spray paint work? Should I use a primer? What is the best way to go about doing this?

I would not use spray paint unless you are really really careful as the paint can get into the cracks and then damage the thing. I am not sure.

I'm a ';themed environment'; painter. We do special effects such as painting metal to look like wood, and wood to look like brick, and so on. First thing you need to do is scuff it with some sandpaper, something in the 200 grit. This provides adhesion for the paint. After that wipe it down and get all the dust off. A light coat of primer wouldn't hurt. Then spray paint (no brush marks that way!). Use something durable unless you want to spray a clear top coat over it.

Hi people,
I need some help manufacturing my project and was looking for some steps on how to carry it out.
I鈥檝e done all my written work and calculations but now I need to make a 600mm by 200mm model road. It will have an Aluminum casing of 600x200 and once that is done I will lay the gravel and Asphalt.
I need help with the steps for the manufacturing of the Aluminum shell. Like marking out bending and machining etc please everyone.

Is it safe to leave an external hard drive that is only enclosed in an aluminum case with no fan?
I have a laptop that is pretty much a desktop replacement. For extra storage space, I decided to buy an internal hard drive and use a Aluminum external enclosure. However, after being warned by a friend that these may damage the hard drive, I looked up all over online to see if it really did hurt the hard drive. All the results are conflicting and I was wondering if it was a good idea to leave it on all the time as I back up files on a regular basis with this hard drive. So, question is: is it safe to leave this on all the time? If not, should I get another external case? Which one?

As long if its an external case is for only 1 hard drive you should be fine, the ones that hold more then 1 you should worry about having a fan for. My computer project is slowly coming together and now I have to decide upon a case. Aluminum sounds appealing because it's lightweight, but I wonder if it's better for the parts inside heatwise than steel. I'm wondering what the pros and cons are of steel v aluminim cases.

Macbook 13'; Aluminum Case for Every Day Use?
I posted two you tube case reviews for the macbook 13'; aluminum laptop that are both easily removable.
One is a super hard and water proof case, but is very bulky, and the other one is a soft case with handles that will allow access to all the ports. Both are great cases and each have their strengths and weaknesses, but what would be better for normal everyday use overall as I plan to only use one? (Note that I bought each one on ebay for $20)
Please don't recommend a speck see thru or satin case, as I used both and returned them as they were hard to take off and needed constant cleaning.

I have a 1950 Red Sox Aluminum Cigarette Case. It would fit a Non-Filter box of Lucky Strike Cigarettes. It was my Grandfather's and he bought it at a Red Sox Game. It has the Red Sox Emblem on the front and all of the Home Games on the back. The Emblem and Home Games are done in Enamel. If I were shopping for a new flute case (which may be a good idea now that I think of it, my clasps are broken and I've been holding it shut with elastic bands LOL), I would go to ebay and find a good auction price on one of those cases that's vinyl-covered poly-foam. If you are going to drill through the side near the top you can put the casing between two v-grooved clamps of a drill press vise. Mark the location with a center drill to make a clean non-slip starting hole. Then get a very sharp (new preferably) drill that is 8mm in diameter to make the through hole. Put it in contact with the casing, drop on cutting oil, and slowly lower the drill bit. You should see aluminum shavings coming off the bit smoothly. Keep drilling (backing off occasionally to brush off any chips) and keep pouring on coolant or cutting oil.
People do this all the time so it should not be a problem.
Assuming the first answer is wrong and you wish to go down through the thin wall and not sideways through the big area. I think you are going to have to go either primitive or exotic and I am not sure either one will work. The primitive would be the style of drill that was used for boring out gun barrels in the past. I believe these used a scraping action at the end of a stiff rod so that once the hole was started and the long rod was carefully aligned it would be very difficult for the bit to get out of line. A problem being that the bit has to be cleaned of chips often and on a gun boring rig, it can be backed out on a lathe bed, kept perfectly in line, and this would be much harder with the large casting requiring a precise jig.
The exotic would be to use some kind of electrode reaction on the end of rotating hollow tube so that removed material was evacuated and the rotation kept it straight.
If you have access to a vertical milling machine I would prefer using a free cutting type tool, such as a 8mm diameter carbide 2-flute endmill. This works great if you are concerned with drill drift. At high rpms the cutting force that deforms the part is eliminated.

I want to decide which version and color iPod nano 2nd generation (with the aluminum casing) I should buy. Since scratching (exposing the aluminum casing) is an issue with the colored (black, green, etc) versions of the nano I am wondering if the silver version has just the bare/plain aluminum casing without paint. I would love to buy the 8gig version but it only seems to be available in black or red which could be easily damaged. Alternatively I would choose the 4 gig aluminum. if you are going to paint the interior of wood windows , you may want to consider vinyl which ar already white on the inside . but you cant stain vinyl so if you a wood lover and want the warmth it offers then buy wood windows . they should be vinyl or aluminum clad on the outside so you never paint that part again . andersen makes a real fine casement , vinyl clad exterior with pine interior

OK. I know nothing about motorcycles and/or cars. But I was backing out of my driveway and scuffed the side of my dad's side bags that are attached to his 650CS BMW motorcycle. It is pretty hard to tell, only he and I can really see it since we know, but I feel awful about it and was wondering, since the actual bags are made of plastic and are lined with aluminium on the outside if I can just buy a new alumnum casing to attach to it. brother, the stuff is called pig snot. really i use it all the time on my vintage harley cases. any sealer will dull after awile so dont use them. just keep up on the detailing and use the pig snot
